About Kelly
I am a lifelong resident of Saskatoon. I am proud to have stayed in Saskatoon and I am committed to ensuring our city remains a community of choice in Canada. While there are many issues that are critical to strong community development and growth, I believe education is the cornerstone. Our youth are the leaders of tomorrow. The education they receive will shape their abilities to be positive and active adult members of our community.
In 1995 I graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Arts. I am currently employed at the Student Enrolment Services Division at the University of Saskatchewan. I am the Coordinator responsible for international exchange and study abroad opportunities for students. My employment experience has provided me with the opportunity to gain first hand experience with policy development, building successful community partnerships, and effective Board and Committee work. In addition to working in the educational sector in Saskatoon, I have had the opportunity to work with educators from around the world and have first hand experience with diverse educational systems.
I have intercultural communication training from the University of British
Columbia. This training combined with practice allows me to bring people
and ideas together to ensure the needs and concerns of diverse communities
are met. I am experienced in conflict resolution and team building skills,
both of which are essential for effective board operations. I have an Education Management certificate from Queen's University.
My participation on many committees and boards ranges from grassroots
organizations to national boards (Board Member, Canadian Bureau for
International Education; former Board Member and Chair of
Audit Committee, World University Service of Canada) and international
juries (Institut de Formation Internationale, International Business
Panel, Rouen, France).
